Founded in 1920 by John W. Seliga, Seliga Shoes has specialized in comfort shoes and in serving the hard-to-fit customer. While John W. tended to the shoes, his wife Agnes ran a dry-goods department inside the same building. In 1946, John W.'s son John Harold left his position as an instructor pilot in the Army Air Force to work in the store. By 1975, John Harold's daughter Susan was working part-time in the store. In 1981, she was joined by her younger brother John W. Seliga II.
For decades, our store has provided comfort shoes and orthotics to the St. Louis area. Our founder John W. personalized shoe service to customers, fitting their individual feet to the best shoes possible. Local foot doctors send their patients to Seliga with confidence because they know Seliga will provide the proper footwear best suited to the individual's needs. Seliga Shoes is now proudly owned by the third generation of Seligas, and we strive to carry on the rich tradition begun by our grandfather.
If you need a custom-made orthotic, a shoe appropriate for a specific physical need, a replacement for a favorite shoe, or anything in between, Seliga's expert fitters can serve you. The team at Seliga continues John W.'s dedication to personalized shoe service and to serving customers with unparalleled footwear expertise and the finest footwear products available.
